but this is ridiculous. Was out tinkering with the DD, '87MJ, 2.5, 4spd and checked the oil. Down a qt. When I change the oil I tear the lid off the filter box and write the date and mileage on it and put it in the glove box. So I got the lid out to see if it needed a change before I added a qt. The info on the lid showed I had changed the oil at 190,457. Checked the odometer. 230,337. I used a qt of oil in 40,000 miles.Was thinking that's not too bad and it dawned on me. 40 thou? No way. Sitting in the drivers seat listening to a Johnny Cash tape, yes, cassette, not CD wracking my brain trying to figure out whats going on here. Took me 10-15 minutes finally remembered. Last spring I swapped the idiot light cluster for gauges and tach, AND a higher reading odometer. Ah well. Just goes with the territory. So I added a qt and all is well. hahaha :rotfl2: I had a similar thing happen to me in my DD except I replaced the cluster for one with 30k fewer miles. I went to check when my oil was done and it looked as if I drove backwards some 20000+ miles
