carbed 4.0

has anyone done it? the brand new motor in my truck took a dump. so i decided a 4.0 would be a good idea. or smallblock. but a 4.0 is bulletproof cept the sensors and whatnot go bad plus I'm not a fan of computers in cars. so has anyone done a carbed 4.0? i imagine there is powerloss but what is done for the intake? any answers?

It's called a 4.2L.
