starkizer
So I assume its just a vent tube that connects to the front differential. Its just a rubber hose that has a white plastic end part on it. Well, anyway, its hanging down and draging all over town. I am sure its just a vent, but is it supposed to go someplace? Connect to something? Strap to something out of the way so it doesnt drag? Any thoughts? A quick search on google had a cherokee that it went into the air filter box but I have had two MJs now and neither one of them had it connected to the air filter.... well, I guess the other one was 2 wheel drive so it would'nt of even had a front Diff....... Hummmmmm :dunno:
dlee
Just zip-tie it , wherever it still has room to compensate for axle movement but out of the way of moving parts.
mvusse
IIRC it's supposed to attach to the firewall near the brake booster. Can't double check, though as two of my thee Jeeps came from the factory as 2wd and the other one is on it's 4th front axle.
cruiser54
Plugs into the top of the diff on the driver's side. It's then zip-tied to the upper control arm and then meanders it's way up to the brake booster area.
Eagle
The upper end doesn't "connect" to anything. It's just a vent, and the white plastic thingie is a sort of check valve. The factory zip tied tthem to other wires and hoses in the vicinity of the brake booster, but the exact location isn't critical. The important thing was to keep it high so it would be above water if fording streams off-road.
