my86mj
so i go to check my oil and give the engine bay a once over i notice that a vaccuum line has layed on the exhaust. the line is attached to an actuator attached to a valve on a hose on one of my heater core lines. what does that valve do and what triggers it?. i want know if it even worth replacing. thanks
Alexia
When you turn the heater on it opens the valve to allow hot coolant into the heater core. If your heat is working without it then the valve is also stuck open.
cruiser54
Actually what it does is CLOSE when you select AC or vent. You can eliminate it with no problems. Factory did it in later years on the Cherokee.
