Drip rail..........?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to remove without damaging it? For paint.

Below is posted FYI-

When I had to get some rust off the roof, I just taped over the drip rails. I'm 75% sure that there isn't a way to remove them without causing stress later on. My advice? Cover them with newspaper or something and then tape em.

Also interesting read.

Thanks guys.

Yeah I didn't think they'd come off easily. Mine are black, I might just paint them in with the body.

On the read.........use cars and trucks are soon to become a premium........might what to consider that when chopping up perfectly good trucks as trail-----.

When I took mine off to paint I just rolled them up and off with my fingers and thumbs. When I put them back on I just positioned them and tapped 'em back on with a rubber mallet. the little clips slide back n forth and may be a bit off when putting back on. I had to slide them side to side a bit to get them to grab. I'm still missing one on the XJ that I ripped off on a tree branch, that side leaks. The XJ ones, being longer are more of a PITA.
