Antifreeze leak

I have a 95 XJ with the 4.0 and have a water leak coming out of the bell housing. I'm thinking head but was wondering, are there freeze plugs on the back side of the block? Planning on pulling the tranny eventually but hate to pull the trans and it be the head, also hate to pull the head and it be a plug.

Yes, there is a plug on the back of the block. You should be able to get at it by yanking the trans.
