Zenobian_84
Been surfing the web today to not much avail. Just wanted to see if anyone out there has or has heard of a replacement (other than OEM specs) for a radiator on a 2.5. Most places I've checked only offer the OEM specs (single row, aluminum/plastic style) as a replacement, ranging anywhere from $140 to around $200. Not in a serious hurry to spend that kind of dough on a new rad, but in the near future, I'd like to replace my worn out one with something new. Keep in mind, it's a pretty stock DD truck, w/ no 4x4 and it doesn't see heavy wear and tear use most of the time (IE: having the bed fully loaded down, or being used as a serious work truck)
JeepcoMJ
If you remove the 2.5 core support, a 4.0 rad will bolt in. you'd need to extend your hoses and do electric fans, and it may cool too well so you may have to block off a bit of it. I did this once for a friend with a single electric fan no mechanical with the fan turned on via a stock dummy light temp sensor mounted to an h.o. tstat housing. Never over heated again, had heat in winter and never ran too cold.
Jeep Driver
Mine is the single row/plastic as you describe. From Advance. The key is to order online with the right coupon code and you get if for about $100. Then take your copper to the scrap yard and get about $14-16 for it. BTW, it will overcool.............no issues with mine.
airspeed
Try Performance Radiator. I picked up a all metal copper/brass two row for my 2.5l. Works well. Rick
