RynoMJ Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Truck turns over and runs for about 3 seconds. I've figured out that the fuel pump is only turning on when the starter is turning. Could this be a bad fuel pump relay or ignition relay?
RynoMJ Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 If I take the orange wire off the starter relay and touch it to positive I hear the pump come on, if this helps
cruiser54 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 On the driver's side inner fender, near the air cleaner housing is an off-white ceramic ballast resistor with a wire at each end. It could be bad or th ewires are loose fitting/unplugged. Bypass it by connecting both wires together and see what happens.
