relocating the vaccuum canister

I was doing some cleanup on the front end today, and decided to finally move the vacuum canister from where it’s stock mounted inside the bumper. I was originally going to put it inside the engine bay back on the passenger side corner above the blower motor but that’s where I’m going to route/mount the manifold and whatnot for the OBA. I had the grill off and noticed a good place to stick it behind the grill on the side of the radiator support. It worked out great. I have the small “ball” canister, but it seems that there would be plenty of room to mount the “football” shaped canister in about the same area. Here’s some pics.

It stores vaccuum, mostly for the HVAC system.

yeah, the 4.0 rad is definately in the way for that,

 

anyone care to get pics on how they put it under the coolant res. tank? i think thats the most common place for we 4oh guys.

There's plenty of room along the inner fender area behind the coil/relay center, or above the blower (under the pressure bottle for the closed system guys). My OBA system already made a down payment on that piece of real estate :D

 

You can stick it anywhere it'll fit...just run the vac lines to it.

so they're flexy hoses not plastic lines right? i think mine might be leakin cause it decides to blow out of the right places at random times haha. i might not have hooked em up all the way when i installed the tow hooks though.

 

my OBA is prolly gonna run like my bros, just use the space behind the relays infront of the bottle, beside the head.

(if that makes sense) his setup is nice. who needs a/c anyways?

The larger main vac line is, but the smaller one is rigid (the one that goes to the heater controls...but nothing you couldn't cut and splice in a piece of regualr rubber vaccuum line into ;)

suprised my brother didnt pop in on that thread... lemme see if i can find his.. its similar except it uses more brass fitings since it has to go around the tank.

That's where mine is, fits great. Too bad my vacuum system sucks too much to enjoy the placement.

SOBER mind you. 311 is my favorite band ever i can't imagine going to their concert so messed up (like many people i know that actually did this) that i didnt make it in, or know what was going on.

i totally understand, i don't drink at 311 either, they are too good to forget. be at 3-11-08, i will be there for sure, i was at 06 and it was the best concert of my life
