Just got a MJ...what next?

I just got a 1986 Comanche with 109,000 for free because I did an even trade with my old motorcycle.

What would be some good maintenance/tune-up tasks to do first? It does seem to run decently....

what motor? 4 or 6cyl? id go through the truck and check for leaks and replace any seals that are leaking. change/check fluids. tune up. then just drive it and fix what breaks

I think you put it best by saying... maintinance and tune up. Change out all the oils, check all hoses, give it a tune up (plugs wires cap and rotor) maybe a new O2 sensor, and then fix things as you find them while driving it. The 2.5 is as reliable as the 4.0 and can reach the same high milages. Just check it over and drive!
