Shane Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I'm lookin for an easy not so expensive way to lift my MJ alittle. It is my DD so I won't be takin it offroad on a regular basis, but I want the look of a small lift. I have been searching on the internet and read that shackles from a Chevy Z71 will give a little lift. Is this true? I don't want it to wobble or anything so is this a sensiable way to go? If so what size spacers would be recommended? As I said before I am not a mechanic but I love these truck and tnkering with them, so any advice is appreciated.
kyleag89 Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Advance auto parts and autozone both sell a Chevy lowering shackle kit in their store for $40. These shackles will give you 3/4"-1" of lift depending on the condition of your leaves.
Rymanrph Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Does anyone have a part number for the drop shackles, or at least a year that I can give the parts counter?
87Warrior Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Does anyone have a part number for the drop shackles, or at least a year that I can give the parts counter? Bought mine from AutoZone. These are on the shelf, in store, not behind the parts counter. The box is blue. Year? I used 1995 when searching online. Superior Automotive 2 pcs. rear lowering shackle kit Part Number: 13-4100
Pete M Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Chevys use their shackles in a reverse orientation from us (the leaf spring bushing is above the frame bushing) so the longer it is, the lower the truck. Regular chevy shackles are shorter than the drop shackles.
