carnuck Posted March 7, 2012 Share Posted March 7, 2012 If it's 4x4, count the output splines. 21 is 1987 to 08/90. 23 is '91 up. After '96 another sensor was added for OBDII (I have one of those I installed in my '87) Functionally they are pretty much all the same. Different controllers are generally due to gearing changes. Late model ones ('99ish +) have a swirled 23 spline output (tcases to match) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
