speed_racer
Hey Keith...glad to see you made it over here. Thanks Brent, glad to be here. You don't know if they make Negative offset rims, do you? Pretty positive the axles I bought are full width, don't pysically have them at my house yet, so I was wondering if theres a way with negative offset rims to bring the tire closer to the body. 87manche
they do, but be sure that they're big enough to clear all of the knuckle/brake stuff. for reference the stock jeep rims are 5.25" backspace. so to end up with a stock track you'll need a rim that matches 5.25-extra WMS width. speed_racer
Ah, which is probably why I see a lot of guys w/big running gear upgrade to 16.5" rims... gotcha!
Pete M
I have the fullsize 44 and 9" with 15x8 rims and 4"' backspacing and this is how far the 33x12.5s stick out (that's house door flashing I used to make some removable 2" flare extensions)
speed_racer
Pete, that's exactly what I needed. Guess these "full widths" arent as wide as I figured. PERFECT :) Thanks!
BLHTAZ
Yea...full widths are only about 4" wider than the stock axles, so it is not a real big deal...and here in Florida, they don't care if the whole tire sticks out past the truck 8) . Build it as you planned...just stay away from the 16.5" wheels...they have no safety bead on the inside and can not be aired down if you would like to do so. They are good for mud trucks that don't ever air down, but they are hated by rock crawlers that I know.
speed_racer
I would prefer a 15" rim, and now that I see how it really sits, Ill be sticking with those!
