CWLONGSHOT
I am likely getting a set of suspension seats for my TJ and would like to replace the MJ's XJ buckets with the TJ's factory seats. I also hate the fact that my hat won't fit on my head while driving as the XJ seats are higher than the bench was... Any one do this?? Just looking for pointers, once I tear into the thing, I know I'll make it work. I just figured I would ask if anyone has done it before and could offer any advice. It's likley going to be a while before I actually do it....weather FINALLY getting cold!! CW
Southen Crawlin
if those are sahara TJ seats then thats gonna be one comfy rig. the mounting holes are different i beleive but for height ya should just take some measurements.
Oizarod115
ive taken my XJ bucket o ut many a time and checked out the mounting on it (MJ bench brackets) from what i saw looked like with soem welding i could drop that seat about 2 1/2 inches if necessary and move it back considerably. that hasnt been necessary, but i think you can chop it enough to get the TJ buckets where you want them. aemsee
With the equipment and fab work I've seen in CW's pics, I think he could make a LayZ Boy fit in there. If ya can, do a good documentary on how you make em work.
jage
Also depends what year TJ - my TJ seats are about 4" taller than the '06 seats. Not sure when they changed, but before 2000 they didn't need the "hockey puck" mod. Document and photograph please! I have an MJ that is still sans seats.
