Some questions about switching gauges ?

Hi, my mj has the gauges without the rpms. It's just got a fuel gauge. My dad has the nicer ones in his eliminator. I would like to put the same ones in mine. I just wanted to know is it plug and play or do i have to run new wires and sensors ? thanks.

If you already have the gauges (not idiot lights) with the big gas gauge, you are good to go. You already have all the required sensors. Just find a cluster of the same era MJ, and enjoy.

I've got an 88 with the tach cluster out of what I believe to be a 90XJ.

a quick easy way to tell is if the plastic on the cluster is white or blue, then you match it with a white or blue donor cluster. Blue being older cable driven speedometer and white being electronic.
