Drahcir495 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I pulled the 4.0 of my parts XJ and I noticed this piece connecting two of the hard fuel line parts together -> Is this normal or is this some type of repair job? Thanks, Rich
HOrnbrod Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 It looks like someone tried to repair or extend the fuel line with some "hard" shrink tubing, the thick stuff with the adhesive inside.
jimoshel Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 :agree: That's my guess also. But it sure ain't factory issue.
Drahcir495 Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Yeah - it looks just like heat shrink tubing. I know the jeep ran - I guess it would not restrict anything being pushed through that area. I will be looking at other 96 XJ's while I am at the junk yard in the next few weeks - I will let you all know.

I don't think 96 was the year for the stupidly insane fuel line extension. That is SO lame...and scary. Ka-BOOM!!
