RockMJ
Hey everyone, well things have changed around here and I am putting my MJ up for sale. It is an absolutely beautiful rig that ive been painstakingly working on. The PO was not the most mechanically inclined individual so thankfully his "handy work" was easily removed from the Jeep. The body on this Jeep is completely rust free! The bed, rockers, cab corners, etc are spotless. I made sure when I was looking to buy my first MJ it had a clean, straight body on it. Granted it has a few dents here and there but no serious damage at all. Since ive acquired the Jeep ive torn into it and began to restore it and get it back up to being a nice rig. The Jeep has a host of new parts in it and I will list them below for you all. The Jeep: 1988 Comanche Long Box 4.0L 115,201 Miles 2WD 35 Rear BA-10 5 Speed Trans (Shifts smoothly, no grinding, no hesitation) The Good: - New Door seals - New Outer Window Seals - New Door Handles - New Door Locks - New Euro Marker Lights - New Delta Xenon H4 Conversion - Fresh front end paint (bumper, trim, and grille) - New Hood Cowl Seal - TB Cleaned (IAC, etc) - New Black Headliner - New NOS XJ Dome Light Assembly - New B-Pillar Courtesy Lights - Windshield Re-Sealed - Windshield Trim Refinished - Cab Vents Refinished - New Grant Steering Wheel (Jeep Logo) - New Clutch & Brake Pedal Pads - Most of the interior has been refurbished in black (Minus a few pieces) - Custom White Face Gauges (Jeep logo, Comanche lettering) - All dash lights have been replaced and work (Clock, etc) - New Headlight Switch - New NOS MJ 5-Speed Shifter - Perfect Condition Tail Lights Tinted Black (Excluding Reverse Light Area) - New Window Crank Handles (Black) - All Lighting Has Been Fixed And Works! (Tails, interior, etc) - Jeep was repainted at some point and is in good shape! - "New" MJ Tailgate from another Jeep with no dents or rust. Needs paint - All electrical connections have dieletric grease on them, exterior and interior - Custom Dual Flowmaster SS Exhaust System (LOUD) - AC Blows Cold, Heat works great - LJ/TJ OEM Hella foglights have been wired in to the factory switch I just installed. Correct relays and fuses are in place as well. - New Wiper Relay (35$ part from Chrysler) - Refinished wiper arms and new blades - Thoroughly cleaned under the wiper cowl and removed all leaves and debris - Frame is spotless and was undercoated at some point in the Jeeps life - New "Jeep" hood lettering The Bad: - Drivers side floor needs to be repaired - Small hole in passenger side trans tunnel need repaired - Bench Seat is pretty shot but usable - Dana 35 cover leaks a tiny amount. Just needs RTV - Wiper Delay Module was bad so it was removed. Wipers work fine on Hi and Lo - Tread on the tires are low. See below for tires - PO painted the passenger side door inner panel and it needs to be replaced or refinished. I havent gotten around to doing this yet. - Dash has a split down the middle and I have refinished it black temporarily as I was going to replace it. You can either repair it, leave it or replace the dash pad. - E-brake cable is broken and needs to be replaced. Cheap part from RockAuto.com The floor is not terrible but soft enough that it may warrant new steel being put in. I do not have a welder and I don't know anyone if Florida or it would have been done. I also have extra parts I will offer to the buyer for an extra fee including wheels and tires and a set of Bushwacker flares. The wheels I have purchased for the Jeep are a set of 17x8 Eagly Alloy Series 137 Super Finish with Black Trim Ring wheels. The wheels have a set of 33x12x17 Toyo AT's on them with great tread. These wheels are a 5x5 BP from a JK and will need wheel adapters to work on the MJ or a JK axle swap (what I was planning). I also have a OEM JK Rubicon 17x8 wheel with the oem 32-33" MT tire on it for a spare. I will throw in an LJ oem spare tire carrier to mount in the bed for the spare. Just needs the holes re-drilled to 5x5. The Bushwacker flares are for the MJ however, they are not a complete set. All of the hardware, trim, etc are intact but the drivers side front flare is missing. You can purchase the set of front flares from Quadratec for 235$ and this was my plan for the MJ or find someone selling one flare. The Jeep is in pieces right now but is completely driveable. It starts, runs, and moves under its own power its just that the interior is not together right now. I have been spending a lot of time and paying close attention to detail when restoring the interior parts on the Jeep. Black interiors are hard to find and I wanted a completely fresh, and redone one tailored to the driver and the creature comforts these Jeeps didnt have. The Jeep is in amazing conditon for the year, the paint is great, the body is straight and rust free! MJ's in this condition are increasingly hard to find and I did search high and low for one of this caliber. I am asking 2800$ for the Jeep by itself OBO. 550$ for the tires and wheels and 150$ for the flares. I will NOT sell the tires and wheels, or the flares until after the Jeep has sold and if the buyer decides they do not want them. Here are some pictures of the Jeep when I got it, the work ive done, and what she is today. I am incredibly disappointed to have to sell the Comanche but I need a Jeep to get me to and from work. My wife and I have been sharing one car for the past five months and it has been incredibly difficult. I will also consider trading for a late model XJ plus cash or trade for another Jeep if someone is interested. Guys, you know what the status of most MJ's are and this one is far outside of the realm of average! PM me or email me directly at tecronic at hotmail dot com for my contact info! The total price for the tires, wheels, Jeep, and Bushwackers comes to 3500$. I have the title in hand and am ready to hear some offers. Thanks guys, *I am only posting a few photos because there are WAY too many to post* Photos from today. I put more of the interior back together RockMJ
RockMJ
Forgot a photo: I should also mention the only interior parts that need to be painted to match are the passenger side b-pillar, lower dash trim, windshield vent trim, and passenger side door panel. All of the small parts are already painted including the ps arm rest, seatbelt holsters, etc. Thanks guys, I also forgot this: - New screw plugs for the a-pillar and b-pillars to replace the missing ones. Need to be painted to match RockMJ

RockMJ
Yeah I do! I made them haha. Spent a bunch of hours getting the layout correct and to where I was happy with them. Thanks man! And I have decided from looking at the pictures that I will likely be keeping the MJ. I am open to offers though folks. I will likely be ordering a simple 3" lift tomorrow and some wheel spacers to get the new tires on her but that remains to be seen RockMJ

RockMJ
I really need to start a build thread. I used to update my ZJ one religiously and when I was done it was 200+ pages with countless amounts of posts lol. I even kept track of every bolt size, part number, etc. I will do the same with the MJ but its moving so slowly I feel I would let everyone down lol. Thanks for the props guys, RockMJ

TylerJY
How did you get the interior that clean, and what did you use to refinish/repaint it?
RockMJ
Extensive cleaning of all surfaces using alcohol, soap, and other cleaning products. I used SEM adhesion promoter and black paint for either vinyl or plastic accordingly. Worked great so far RockMJ
