problems... clutch or tranny or other

ok..'90 4.0 ax15 231...occasionally while cruzen (on the skinny pedal, but just maintaining speed) i add just a bitt more go presure.. say 1-200rpm the engine revs as it should but i get no acceleration, for a quick second( long enough to notice not long enough to even get my eyes to the tach) this has happened 3-4 times in 4th over the last 2 weeks and once in 3rd today.

 

what does this mean? any help is appreciated.

my guess would be to check your clutch for excessive ware. it could be its time to replace it.. but I am sure there are other reasons that someone will point out

Sounds like your clutch is beginning to slip.
