Anyone ever think about how to change the setpoint of this silly light? I could just

pull the bulb, but wouldn't mind if it came on at 3K instead of 2K.

Pull the bulb. It doesn't always come on a 2K -- it's controlled by a mix of vehicle speed, engine RPM and load (engine vacuum). I've seen mine tell me to upshift from 4th to 5th going UPHILL at 35 MPH.

That stupid light in my first XJ used to come on all the time in 5th cruising at 70. First thing I did with all my manual Jeeps was pop the cluster and take that light out.

I thought that was a 1988 GPS to tell me which way I am going...forward. It's cool to have lights blinking on and off...like a 1950's computer...
