jvd
Recently replaced the door seals, less than a year ago. This fixed the leak on the passenger side, not so much the driver side, found its leaking again. Want to know what is the thickest seal that will fit the MJ? I know people have mentioned the Grand Cherokee seals, just wondering if there are others? Thanks Josh
philbert001
You could also try loosening the bolts that hold the hinges to the door, (One hinge at a time), and move the door in towards the body just a touch. If your door isn't aligned well, just figure out which hinge to manipulate. moving the bottom hinge towards the inside of the door, (Door moved out), will move the window frame of the door in towards the seal. Moving the upper hinge towards the outside, (Door moved in) will also move the window frame in. Aligning panels, (Well), is an acquired skill, but once you've got it down, it's pretty easy! maddzz1
When you replaced them did you use the replacments from a 97+ XJ? If not, they are thicker than the older ones. That what I used on mine.
jvd
Positive it is the door, sat there for an hour running the hose over all areas while sitting in the truck, seat's been pulled for easier watching. Got the seals from team cherokee. Don't know what year they are really for.
