reson46
Is anybody familiar with how to remove this type of side mirror? It is a different style than what was on the driver's side. On the driver's side there was a plastic cover that popped off and allowed access to the mounting screws. I tried the same approach with this mirror but if there is a cover it doesn't want to pop off. I want to keep it intact if possible to use on the other MJ. From inside the door I can see that the mounting screws are threaded to the door and there is no backing nut that needs to be removed from inside. Thanks, Willy
Rymanrph
If I remember correctly, that cover does just pop off. You might have to keep messing with it.
jimoshel
That doesn't look like a standard MJ or XJ mirror. I'm thinking maybe it came off something else. Maybe the attaching screws are accessible from inside the door. If there are no screw heads on the inside of the door then they must be outside, under the cover. Inspect the cover carefully. Sometimes the cover is held on by a small screw in a concealed place. If there is no screw, then the cover must be removable by prying. Get a bigger crow bar. Also it might need a sliding or twisting motion to unlock it.
duster1971
I'm thinking those are isuzu mirrors. As they look exactly like mine. The cover will come off just apply more pressure but don't be excesive.
Geonovast
Sadly, those are original. My 2.5 came with identical mirrors.
reson46
I was wrong. There were nuts on the back side. Willy
