So before I go diagnose this, I figured Id throw it up here. Gotta love jeeps. Anyways, my jeep will fire right up, and within 3 seconds, shut right off. This came out of the blue the other night, and I havent had time to look at it yet. I wanted to go wheelin this weekend, so maybe u guys can help me out. Like I said, fires right up, then dies right after......Throw out suggestions, I'm going outside to figure this out.

what year/engine do you have, the ballast resistor on the drivers side fender is a popular culprit, it is a white block with 2 wires attached to it, the quick check is to jump the two wires and see if it stays running

be sure to check the fuel pressure at the rail -- just went thru this myself -- would start, run, but die when a load (driving) placed on the engine -- found the hose from the fuel pump to the metal line was nearly closed off -- replaced the hose -- blew the doors off a hot shot in a "race" ricer and gave a camero a run for his money

2nd on the Ballast Resistor. Jump the two wires going to it, and fire it up. If it stays running, you've found your problem.
