acfortier Posted May 11, 2011 Share Posted May 11, 2011 Well, obviously I know this isn't a Ford forum, but before I go ahead and join another one I figured I'd ask you guys... So, the deal is I have a 1994 Mustang GT with the 5.0L and AODE transmission. Recently, it stopped going into forward and now only goes into reverse. Now my options seem to me are to: 1) Send it off to be rebuilt (probably will cost $$$) 2) Find a junkyard one -Only problem is there isn't a tranny behind a 5.0 at any yard near me, so I was thinking about hooking up one behind the 3.8L instead (not sure about if it will last) 3) Or my third option after doing some research was to find a 4R70W tranny from either a F150 or any other Ford car/truck that was sitting behind a 5.0 Obviously, if possible, I'd like to do the third option, but still unsure whether electronically it will work or if it will even hookup (I'm assuming yes since it is the same engine) Any thoughts?
