jimoshel Posted April 21, 2011 Share Posted April 21, 2011 About a week ago the wind was whipping thru here something ferocious when the neighbor called and said the roof of the garage was blowing off. I checked. It was. The SW corner was raising and flopping about 2 feet. Got the ladder leaned up and started carrying cement blocks up and placing them along the edge. Cement blocks, not cinder. After carrying the 12th one up and coming back down the ladder my bum leg, (motorcycle wreck years ago) gave out and I fell to the ground collapsing up against the ladder panting for breath. My GF, a RN, starts hollering "heart attack" I tell her BS. No heart attack. For a week this goes on. Finally to shut her up and get her off my back I agree to go see a doc, cardiologist. That was this morn. Plugged enough wires onto me I looked like a Chevy V8 Distributer cap with the plug wires adangling. Then the damn stethoscopes. Everybody walking into the room had a damn stet around their necks and they all had to listen. Them things are cold. Then the treadmill, legalized torture machine. Not going to mention all the monitors all over the place showing weird pics. Was finally told to get dressed and the doc came in. He said the tests and results were 85-90% accurate and he couldn't find a thing wrong with me and I should be good for many more years. Just don't climb any more ladders carrying cement blocks. Well I was so damn happy at the news that I immediately lit up the cheapest cigar I could find and went to Mickey D where I ordered a double grease burger and a side order of grease fries.
