skinnyg
I just pulled my bed off today,Gas tank has to come off. Also parking brake cable bracket, spare tire hanger and exhaust hanger, and some wiring.Take your tailgate off before you pick the bed up or it will be extra heavy in the back(ask me how i know).have fun

87Warrior
I only removed the tank and parking brake junction. Its not much work. Tank: - Spray J hooks with PB Blaster - Disconnect fuel lines and wiring from pump - unbolt J hooks and let tank down slowly - while down there trace bed harness to a junction point and disconnect Parking brake block: - spray bolts going into bottom of bed with PB Blater - Remove bolts and let block assembly hang Spare tire winch and exhaust hanger are bolted to the frame. I was going to go with an acrylic enamel Acrylic enamel single stage might be the most economic and simple for a home brew job, But base coat clear looks the best and gives you time to correct sins in between the base and the clear application . Good quality base clear is not like the crap they use at the factory and will hold up better. And gives you a deep shine. Just my 2 cents worth
Sir Sam
Single stage Arcylic enamel is the cheapest for home use and will also give the lowest quality results. Urethanes will be better for smell and spray, but slightly more expensive. Base clear will give you the best result with the least amount of work. Better paint means a better spray.
