No one has said it yet, but thanks Motion Offroad for taking the to time mock-up the flares. This really helps. I'm going to look into this a bit further.

So the top of the flare goes where the top of the stock flares do, then you trim approx. 2" of sheetmetal all around the wheelwell?

Yes.

 

The flares have a mounting system that you install to the fender, than the flare will simply "pop" onto it. Here is a photo of the mounting setup that is hidden under the flare. It may give you a better idea of the amount being trimmed.

I just received my flat style flares today so I should have some pictures of them mounted up when I get the MJ back from the painters! Thanks Motion for the photos and info!

The flares are secured to the mounting brackets with screws but more or less, thats correct. Thanks
