Jamie
Comanche worked A1 until today. Started as usual. Ran great as usual. Stopped at the hardware store. When i came out NO GO. Twenty minutes of cranking on & off IT STARTED. I never done nothing. Now it's home and NO GO again. I can hear the fuel pump. :dunno: Guess i need to check for spark. Any other ideas what to check? :Canadaflag:
Rockyrider367
Check for spark. Make sure there is fuel pressure comming from the pump. Id check the relays. If they are going bad it could do that.
cody4359
isnt turning over but not firing a sign of the CPS being faulty? :hmm:
jimoshel
Check your CPS. Often times just disconnecting and connecting the plug back up will do it. Wipes the corrosion from the pins.
Jamie
She's an 88 inline six, where do i find the cps connector? :hmm: I'm guessing again, that it's on the back of the engine. :help:

Garvin
You'll see a little wire harness come up from the drivers side rear of the engine and connect on top of the intake manifold, that comes from the CPS. Try to unplug and plug it (as said before) but it sounds like it's going bad. When they first start going bad, they will work perfect when cold but won't start when hot (first hand experience on that on my '90 XJ with the 4.0L). maddzz1
Once every 3 months or so, for the past year and a half this will happen to me. I unplug the CPS connector and then plug it back in. Truck starts and I'm good for another 3 months.
