89JeepMJ
Ive had problems with my rear right shoes in the past but just yesterday it got persistent and now it seems like its stuck against the drum. I'm opening it up on thursday and got my own idea whats happening but just wanted to get all your opinions. Thank you
flint54
If I understand you correctly, your issue is that the shoes do not return to the non-braking position after applying and releasing the brake pedal. Things to consider, or rule out: 1) bad wheel cylinder (sticking piston) 2) incorrect shoe or spring installation 3) shoes worn crooked due to #2 4) EB cable frozen and not fully releasing
89JeepMJ
Now that you say that it probably is the EB Cable. I just replaced the wheel cylinders in the fall so that isnt it. Thanks though for your input

86FUBAR
Iv had this sort of thing happen before on my brothers s-10 and each time it was the shoe lining coming apart ( delaminating ) and causing the back brakes to lockup or be come grabby when applied
littlezeeker
I had the same problem with my chevy c10 check you rubber brake line if their old it will push brake fluid to the brakes but when it mater cyl. tries to suck the fluid back to the reservoir to release the brakes, the rubber hoses collapse causing the brakes not to release or lock up. 89JeepMJ
I need new pads, I'm putting them on in the summer when i have some money. Could it in anyway be the adjusting screw?
SouthShore440
sometimes the flex line goes bad and gets acts like a 1 way valve. slowly it will bleed off and then as you apply brakes it they will start to freeze up again.
