in the process of making cardboard cut outs,

i prepped most of the passenger side,

wire wheel, ground, and sanded so it will paint nice,

going to pull the major dents out,

 

i know i know, pics or it didnt happen,

here's a before

 

i shall have pics up when i have more done

I would say 16 gauge steel or try finding old doors and just cut part of what you need to replace the missing part on the bed !

measure the thickness where you cut with a micrometer. theres plenty of conversion charts online. thats what i did when i had to buy new nipple rings and didnt know what gauge they were :rotf: (lost the end of one and was worried they'd come out in my sleep) turns out they were a 14g. but as long as you can read a mike, you can find out the gauge thickness

Or if you can't read a micrometer, a set of digital calipers will get you well within the needed accuracy for determining which Gauge steel is on there.
