MJ V8 Radiator

Recommended Posts

On NAXJA a thread touts the CSF all metal three row radiator as an excellent replacement for stock radiators in an XJ for 4.6 strokers or hard running 4.0's to give the cooling needed.

If you are familiar with them, would they provide adequate cooling for a mostly stock small block chevy in a street only daily driver MJ, probably a 327?

maybe. from what I've read, it's practically a crap shoot as to whether a v8 can stay cool in an MJ/XJ under all conditions. A good quality rad, a powerful fan and a fan shroud will go a long way towards keeping everything within specs. but even then, some guys seem to always be chasing some overheating issues.

Was planning on a good fan, maybe two smaller ones. A cowl hood is a definite. Thought even about a couple of vents on the side of the fender well facing toward the back of the fender well so water or crud doesn't come in that would let air escape when driving or the fan is on. Probably will stick with stock exhaust manifolds since headers allow for more heat than the cast iron manifolds.
