STERLING STINGER Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 is there any certain way to take the knuckle off, or is it just basic stuff? i got a set off a cc member  i prob need a breakdown of some sort.... i don't really have the time to replace the universal right now if i don't have to... any suggestions welcome.. Thanks Paul
maddzz1 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Go here: http://madxj.com/ Click on the installing ball joints link. It shows how to get the knuckle off and some different ways of hitting it to reduce/prevent damage to the knuckle. Since you are replacing them, damage shouldn't be that important. But its a great write up
wannabeMJ Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 if your gonna change the knuckles I'm assuming your gonna change the ball joints to so the best way to do this is cutting them just cut the castle nut off both of them and use a punch to tap them out thats what I did on my 44's when I rebuilted them only after I tried to get the castle nut off for at least 1 hour
87Warrior Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 a3jjPouRdFw then..UYcqNAhk-co There are a few other video guides on youtube, but these seem to be the most complete.I would suggest starting the PB Blaster soaking yesterday. Everything will be really corroded.

87Warrior Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 i always thought putting jack stands on your lcas was bad.... I have heard that too. But I do it. I figure it has to be better than dragging them over jagged rocks and such.
