jimoshel
I just got through replacing the CMC on my '89 MJ, to late as it already gummed up the fuse panel. As a safety precaution I inspected the rest of the fleet, 12 MJ'S, 8 XJ'S found a leak on a '88MJ but caught it in time. No damage done. I have always preferred rebuilding my components to buying rebuilt. Checked the price at Auto Zone, $29.95 for rebuilt CMC. $27.95 for rebuild kit. Is that asinine or not? $2 diff. There are 3 AutoZones in Pueblo. Each had one CMC in stock and weren't ordering replacements. I got all 3. Oh yes, Checked a Jeep discount parts store online. They had them for $139.95. Pays to shop around. Jim
Pete M
are the aftermarket ones rebuilt? Are the Jeep ones brand new?
jimoshel
They were all rebuilts. From Taiwan. I thought that for $139 it would be a new one but it wasn't.

jimoshel
Does anyone know if a '84-'90 Wrangler clutch master cylinder will swap with the '86-'90 MJ-XJ CMC? Quadratech has new, not rebuilt CMC'S for $90. They only list for the YJ and not the XJ but the pics look identical. Also they list the complete assembly, both cylinders and hyd hose for $160. mjeff87
check to see the direction that the hydraulic line exits the unit...I know TJ's exit from the bottom, not from the top like XJ/MJ's do. Not sure about the YJ's though. Jeff
