warrensmanche Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 so my crank sensor finally went out and i find out that i have a high altitude crank sensor.i bought the normal because no stores have the other in stock.it actually runs the same and starts better.it use to be if i cranked it over after i ran it hard it would crank like a low battery but after letting it sit would crank fine.now it starts fine all the time.was the high altitude an option back in the day?and if you got this package what did it all consist of?
mjeff87 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 High altitude CPS was Renix-only. The sensor is offset a very small degree, which advances the ignition timing. You can slot the mounting holes on a regular CPS and do the same thing. Jeff
warrensmanche Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 ya i get all that but was it an option from factory and if so did it come with any thing else?
Eagle Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 ya i get all that but was it an option from factory and if so did it come with any thing else? It was not an "option." It was used in vehicles that were destined for sale at dealerships in high-altitude locations, such as Denver.
