mkbruin
Define "running gear". Axles: same width and bolt pattern, will be 30/35 combo, will need brackets. Engine: carbed 4.2 and BA 10-5 from 87-90, 91-95 went to HO (there is no such thing as a '96 wrangler); however, the t-case is clocked differently, so a complete driveline will not bolt up without clearancing the floor. anything else? dasbulliwagen
The YJ axles will not bolt up without welding on the proper mounts and perches, as the YJ is leaf spring in the front. The engines and trannies will bolt up, except that the YJ in its early years came with the 258 (4.2) 6 cylinder and it was carbed. So unless you get a later model that you could use the engine and trans from, there won't be much else that would be an easy swap.
