oldrusty Posted January 22, 2011 Share Posted January 22, 2011 My poor old mj developed a noise yesterday that has me stumped...... I thought what I was hearing was the sound of my mechanical fan making contact with the plastic shroud.... I decided today after work to pull it in the shop and fasten the shroud back into place. What I found did not make me happy. The back side of the mechanical fan is just barely making contact with the crankshaft pulley...... Has anyone experienced this? Jay Posted January 22, 2011 Share Posted January 22, 2011 Stand at the fender and look at your belts and pulleys while your truck is running. Your harmonic balancer might be pulling away from the motor. If it is Replace it. If all of your belts and pulleys don't line up almost perfectly change the pulley or pump that is throwing it out of alignment. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
