dasbulliwagen
The newer cherokee motor has a different head, so your intake manifold won't fit up correctly, although it has been done, and there are ways to adapt the newer manifold to work with your older computer system.... but yes it will work with your computer as long as you can make the other stuff work with the newer cylinder head. Pete M
what specifically is wrong with your current engine?
Incommando
your option are to switch everything over from the old motor to make your current electronics work, or to swap all of the later electronics into your jeep with the new motor. brdhntr
agreed, the computer will not work with the new engine. you need the old mechanics (minus block) or the new electrics to make the switch work. i'd go new engine, new electrics, but they are about the same amount of work imho. another option would be to swap another motor completely in. say a built 401. maybe a sbc. how anout a blown chevy big block. hey, if you gota change, change.
