Towing MJ with XJ

Saw this thread and have a few more questions ......

I will be towing an MJ with my stock XJ ..... it has a 1 1/4 hitch with 3500lbs and and 300 tong ratings.

I'm a gentle driver, brakes are good, and I will be using a dolly, is the comanche too much for this equipment?

 

40 mile hilly trip ..... not long hills, but some short steep ones.

you will be pushing the limits of what you've got. If you do it, don't go fast. ever. and leave lots of distance between you and what ever is in front of you. basically, drive it like you're a danger to society, cause you very well may be. :thumbsup:

:agree: I have a 2" class 3 hitch on my XJ and I tow with no problems. A tow dolly requires a 350lbs tongue weight so I would be very careful.
