Fire4755
I figured i should start one of these for my truck. 1988 Comanche Pioneer. 4.0L 5 speed 65559 miles with a cap and bed liner. Since I have owned it I've done a few small things I don't have pics of. I put in a Jensen head unit with kenwood door speakers and i built a sub box which will soon get a sub. I also made a Custom center console and 3 output power block for gps and stuff. I also put in forward and rear facing fog lights. The plan for the future is to do a bunch of small projects but my major project is to convert it to 4x4. I also Am gonna put a tool box. And roll bar in the bed, take off the cap, paint the truck, line-x the bed, put in a flowmaster 50, throttle body spacer, and rusty's intake, put in a tow hitch, lift 4.5 via spring over, cb radio, subwoofer, put xj power doors on and cut my stock ones into half doors for summer cause they leak anyway, also I'm putting a tach and trans temp gauge on the a post. I think that's about everything I wanna do. Well that's the basic idea and this is gonna take a while haha more updates to follow.
DodgeFan01
Hey man, that is a nice looking truck! I like the black steelies too! makes it look tougher  That is a nice looking shell too. Are you going to keep it around in case you need to throw it on? Also, I didn't see your rear facing fog lights, are they hidden or post picture? Adam

Fire4755
ok so here is the back up lights, subwoofer box i custom made for behind the seat, the power block thing, the switch for the power block to turn it on and off, and my new axles I'm gonna put in. they are out of a 98 cherokee and they are dana 30 and 35 geared 3.55.... And when i went to pick up the axles from a guy in Pottsville, Pa my lock on the bed cap broke so i couldn't unlock it. so i tried drilling it out... didn't work then broke a screwdriver.... then drilled a big hole... then tried to climb threw the cab window but it was frozen so i had to turn on the truck and let it heat up for like 20 mins... then i finally fit threw and said screw it and just ripped the bars off that hold the door shut hence the rope..... just my luck hahaha Well hopefully things will get better. Btw as for parts i have and need for the conversion. I have... Dana 30/35 Np231 Have to pick up... Front Driveshaft Ax15 Being shipped to me... Rear Shaft Gotta find.... Shift linkage for t case

beaterheep
your going to want to throw that d35 away and find an 8.25 out of a cherokee. the 35 sucks. running 33's your chances of blowing it up are high. i broke my stock d35 on the street with little 215/70/15 tires, tires spun a little in the rain, grabbed again and pop no more rearend. ive got an 8.25 from a 94 cherokee and i welded the diff and i havent had any problems yet
Fire4755
I have 2 35s so I'm gonna try it for now if it breaks I'll change it I'm not a huge wheeler just a bit here and there it's more for the snow so I may only do 31 tires idk yet but I'll keep my out for an eventual upgrade I'd prob try and go d44 tho but ether way they are better then the

One fell of fand the other is cracked and about to fall off. Plus it cracked my rusty stock bumper haha. gotta love it. Good news is that i'm slowly getting the 4x4 parts and some other stuff... -getting front driveshaft tonight -Got a 10" MTX subwoofer -Got an a post gauge pod with a tach and trans temp gauge Also picking up on the 9th Ax15 Amp Custom front bumper

Fire4755
hey 89JeepMJ i like that plow man where did you find that at? as for updates on my truck.... I'm halfway threw swapping in new doors out of an xj. They have power mirrors, windows, and locks and the nicer interior pannels. they are white for now but when i repaint the whole truck it'll look sweet. I only have one on for now because it took an hour to shim it right to make up for the sag in the pins and the drivers hinge needs to be welded before i can take that door off or i think it may just fall off so thats gonna happen thursday and I'm hoping that the shop doing the welding will wire them up for me. A man can hope. I'm also picking up a tool box tonight hopefully to replace my cap on the back. Last i got all the parts to do the conversion so keep your eye out for that in the next month or two. Also i'll have some leftover parts for sale at that time which is looking like a ba 10/5 2wd with 67000 miles on it, a dana 35 out of an mj geared 3.07 with the same, a 98 cherokee t case with around 98,000, front dummy axle, possibly a rear window visor thing and a drop in long bed liner. well thats it for now. Fire4755
Alot has happened since i last updated. I was driving and all the sudden the engine started backfireing violently and would not stop. Well after a min or two the muffler popped like a tin can. I brought it to the shop and they replaced it. I didn't make it off their lot before it did it again. So they replaced it again and went in search of what was causing it. Long story short i think knock on wood they fixed the major problem. They had to replace the distributor and cap, wires, surpentene belt, muffler, tail pipe, gaskets, valve cover gasket, air intake, pcv hose. I think thats about it but it was bad. The major back firing stopped but it still is sputtering and making small back fires that sound like put. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. That being said onto the project. I took off the cap and put in a tool box. I'm getting a fabtech tire rack for the bed and a custom front push bumper. I also decided it'd be smart to sell the d35 i was gonna use for my 4x4 conversion and get an 8.25 so i'm in the process of getting one of them. Well here's some pics of the new box and the truck with the cap off. My plan for the near future is to weld the hinge and put the drivers door on and wire them, convert to 4x4, new front and rear bumpers, 3 inch hell creek lift with 33" tires, and repaint the whole truck red with the bed and rails Line-x. Fire4755
ok slowly getting there. I just got a custom bumper from a guy who turned out to be a member that lives in jersey. It hangs a little low on the left side but I'm not complainin its alot nicer then the old one. Down side is i know ill eventually rip it off cause it is just the stock mounts I upgraded the bolts but that won't help the sheet metal.
Backroads
Well its been a LONG time since this piece was updated. Short recap, I bought this from FIRE back in may?? It had a hole in the gas tank and a busted rear yoke in the driveshaft. So I towed it home, and put in a new tank and drilled out the yoke on the axle and fixed all that....drove it in its piss poor state of stockness for a while as I collected parts. Just gona be a recap as ive been workin at it for a couple months now. new tank this is where the magic happens pulled out the 2wd crap trans and pulled the pan to do RMS and other odds and ends while access was easy ugly oil pan fancy pan paint, easy to identify leaks  new clutch, then AX-15E and 231 tc trans in... front axle ready to roll under....HP dana 30, WJ knuckle conversion, tierod/draglink flip, big brakes (akebono) 4.5" springs 2" spacer and long arms ready to rock and roll :clapping: good clearance with flipped tie rod, even on stock tires close up of front end. I took the tie rod completely off and cut about 1" off each side to deal with the extra length WJ tie rods have, gave me more than enough room to dial in the toe settings side shot, again stock tires...still a baby LOTS more to come just to catch up to today

Backroads
on to the rear axle. chrysler 8.25, 29 spline 410s and aussie. Did a spring over and set my pinion angle cut the perches off to reuse since I'm a cheap arse cleaned up ready to mock up 2wd scrap metal in the meantime found the exact tires i wanted for a great deal. 33 12.5 15 Kevlar MTR and my daughter had fun with them haha! axle done bastard packs shock mount trials....might come back to this one...again key word was being cheap...... ended up with good angles on everything diff covers at the right price time to go back in and add the spacers (left them out earlier so I could get the rear off the ground without it being too sketchy rear end all buttoned up just about little fender trimmage, and pinch seam re-engineer :shake:
