'97+ center Console question

I was working on the my '97 console last night and realized that the black plastic support that goes in the back (typically covering the airbag controller) doesn't work really well with the MJ transmission tunnel. If I get one in position, the other two mounting points are just floating. I'm just curious to see what other people have done.

Anybody? I know I'm not the first to install one.

can't remember what I did exactly but I think it was close enough that it wasn't a problem. Either I used a washer or had the carpet in and there was enough give to make up the difference.

I made my own bracket out of some old scrap I had laying around.
