My XJ has a 6 inch lift using RE drop brackets (they stopped the death wobble). I'd like to move this suspension onto my MJ, but the MJ has a slightly different control arm mount. Is it still possible to use the RE drop brackets? Looks like either I would only use the front half and do a homemade brace, or I would possibly cut off the stock brace on the MJ control arm mount. Maybe then the whole RE assembly would fit. Let me know if you have an answer.

everything from the font suspension of the XJ will work on the MJ. pretty much everything from the cab forward is compatable between the two. except for a few things like seats, etc.

The brace on the MJ control arm mounts is welded onto the OUTSIDE of the "frame" rail at the pockets. The brackets fit up inside the control arm pockets. I don't see how the frame gusset could interfer with the drop brackets. I had a Trailmaster kit with brackets on my 88 MJ, it was on when I bought it. It's my understanding that the RE brackets are copies of the Trailmaster, so I think they should fit.

I ran this very same setup on my rig. I even used the stock upper and lower control arms with no issues at all. The only thing is you can't use the support bracket that goes from the LCA pocket to the tranny x-member bolts,

yeah RE sells the dropbracket kit in the 6500 kit (5.5" kit)

the only difference is that you don't need the extra brace they sell for XJs cause our CAs are already braced... work done for you.

i can't wait to get my RE kit.

I just bought an '88 Manche and it has the RE LCA drop brackets on it.. so I guess they work.

They're for sale if you're interested... I'm doing long arms this winter and won't be needing them.
