I picked up a set of gauge's out of a 95 XJ with a 4.0 in it. Will these work in my 89 Comanche with a 2.5 in it? I also found a set in a 89 XJ with a 2.8. Would this be a better choice?

Also would the trans out of the 89 XJ (4WD) work in my Comanche when I go from 2WD to 4WD?

95 gauges will not work.

You did not find an 89 with a factory 2.8 in it. Last year for the 2.8 was 86. If someone swapped in a 2.8, they need to be slapped.

I will have to ask again what year it is. The sticker under the hood says 2.8. Will these gauge's work in mine?

As for the 95 gauge's , how much do people on here pay for them?

as to answer the OP you need to find a jeep cherokee or comanche with the 2.5 I4 in it for the gauge to work. 87-90 year range because you have the renix 2.5 and any thing made after 90 had the HO. I think

The 95 voltmeter, temperature, and oil pressure gauges will work if you install them in your 89 cluster. The fuel, tachometer, and speedometer gauges will not.
