Will bucket seats from a 97' xj 2 door bolt right in place of my stock bucket seats in my 89', no drilling or modification of seat brackets?

What does it take?

Complete modification of the 97+ seat brackets to fit on the unique Comanche floor pan.

 

OR

 

Remove seat brackets from an MJ Bench or Bucket and modify those to fit onto the XJ seats

 

OR

 

Remove the front support bracket on the floor of the 97+ XJ, remove the front support bracket on the floor of the MJ, weld in the 97+ support and the 97+ seats should bolt right in (although I'm not sure if the rear studs on the MJ floor line up with the rear holes on the 97+ XJ seat).

Or just mockup the seats in the truck on the xj brackets and weld brackets on the floor to make them fit, that's what I did. It's super easy.

If you do this you actually sit higher in the truck then you would with factory mj seats and bracketry right?

If that's true I'd estimate it would be less than an inch. I didn't notice increased seat height.

Do you have any pics of your mounts? I'm doing the same swap and it would be nice to have something to reference b4 I start.
