kbusch18 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 hey just wondering i don't have a picture sorry just wondering if anyone knows what this sensor is that i am looking at its on a inline 6 87 engine the sensor screws into the block just above the oil pan and right below the exhaust manifold it snapped off the part that did so is plastic and is held onto a square pin as well it comes from the same bundle of wires as the oxygen sensor went to advance no one seems to know that it exists
JeepcoMJ Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 it's the knock sensor. without it, the engine will run like crap.
Eagle Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 it's the knock sensor. without it, the engine will run like crap. :agree: Shop around. IIRC it can be pricey.

JeepcoMJ Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 the new one actually bolts on and has a plug in it that looks like the plug for an injector. IIRC, it's white. it is a direct replacement part, and works great!
kbusch18 Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 and this replacement will screw right into the block did u wrap with teflon
JeepcoMJ Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I used tru-blu plumbers dope. just don't get it on the holes.
