  1. Thanks boss man, was the mechanic confused or does the breather valve sometimes located in the rear
  2. No it's the rear vacuum, small hose like 3/16
  3. Just wondering, obviously I don't know the proper name for the vacuum line on the back side o the valve cover, but my question that needs to be hooked up correct. The guy at the garage was fixing a totally different problem and lobbed off that line stating it isn't needed, now I just have an open hose there, he is mistaken correct? It is the open system no pressurized tank for coolant
  4. Map sensor and a shorted out wire
  5. I put two grounds for it in the bumper myself can anyone tell me is there something wrong with the distributor in this situation could it possible spark initially then stop
  6. No if I keep the key in the start position it will continue to attempt to start goes in a cycle until I release the key
  7. Okay took a voltmeter to every wire on the starter relay checked fusible links as well everything checks out with the key in both the on and start positions. i did notice that when the truck attempts to fire up the coil wire to the distributor is topping out at .7v is that common. and i have two grounds for the fuel pump
  8. no dice on the volt meter checks out at 12v
  9. so when the fuel pump primes up initially it should show 12v, should i also check it while turning over the engine, would that provide any insite
  10. What would that narrow it down to, ill try it once sandy leaves and let you know
  11. Missed a coma my bad bud
  12. what would that narrow it down to ill try it once sandy leaves and let ya know
  13. for the relay i replaced the 2nd one from front when that didnt change anything i went through each with the new relay and no luck is there anything i am overlooking i know a map sensor wouldnt cause it not to start it makes me feel like there is a fuse or another relay because there is never any variance in the symptoms
  14. I have changed both fuel pump and ballast resistor I have also bypassed the resistor
  15. Hey is there an available diagnostic tool for an 87 jeep Comanche like and obd I know there is the obdii but isn't usable for older vehicles that have the diagnostic center under the hood
  16. Hey I have been trying to this problem for a long time my jeep will turn over start then shutoff it will stay in that cycle if I keep the key turned So far I have changed Fuel pump fuel filter icm coil fuel pump relay ballast resistor ignition switch and ecu. Any thoughts
  17. any thoughts there i replaced ign. switch, fuel pump relay, bypassed ballast resistor, i know fuel pump works, i agree it may be fuel, if it wasn't at least receiving fuel it wouldn't rumble every time by now
  18. by the way if i have three relays in a row which is actually the fuel pump relay if i am looking at it from the passanger side
  19. yes i will turn the key it will fire up or rumble then restart the cyle i can turn the key to off then back to on to keep doing it or just keep the key in the start position and it will do the cycle on its own i bought a relay and went through each relay and the symptoms remained the same
  20. no dice on the fuel pump relay , fuel pump kicks in real good not an issue where are the map and tb located
  21. Bypassed the resistor syptoms still the same
  22. hey having a problem with my comanche starting fuel pump kicks in when promted then turn key on and will fire up for a slit second and shut off if i leave the key turned it will keep doing this cycle for hours so far i have replaced the ignition switch crank sensor wire is not melted
  23. kept original wiring harness, i used the new distributor, i used old cps old intake, old throttle body i just swapped engine no tranny
  24. i switched out the sensors to make it run the basics for whatever a 94 needs to run i don't have a knock so the knock sensor isnt needed but it is in and the distributor is good as well the computer is original i was thinking something along the lines of the intake manifold if somthing that regulates air to fuel needed cleaned idk
  25. so i recently swapped out my 87 inline 6 automatic for a 94 inline 6 automatic me and my father kept most things original couple of sensor swaps my question is it has a rough idle cold and warm at some points when driving and come to a red light it will begin to act like its gonna putter and shut off but never does and if i am at a stop sign on a down hill slope and try to excel up a hill it will have no pick up and act like its gonna shut off is this something in the throttle body that needs to be cleaned
