Pete M
only takes one harsh bump at speed to tear the suspension out from under your truck. people spend 10s of thousands to desert race and they don't do it for the bling factor. a structural rollbar (or better yet, a cage) is also highly recommended. cheap lifts are cheap for a reason. if you want to save some dough and still go fast, look for used parts (but not "used up" parts). and if you plan on any jumping... don't. bigalpha
What's the best way to level out a truck with stock suspension that rakes forward? Install a spacer under the front coils?

Pete M
jumping an MJ is a sure way to bend stock parts like the control arms, the front uniframe portion, or anything on the front axle, including the axle itself. You must build the truck up to handle the physics involved. There will be lots of welding involved for rollcages, frame supports, axle trusses etc. nothing on a stock MJ is built to go 60mph in the desert.
