Rustybucket Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I picked up a 87, 4.0, aw4, 2wd.. The manual windows have a small problem, if u roll them down to far, then u can't roll it back up, so u have to pull on the window so that the window regulator would catch and take the window back up, would this be easier to fix, or to just get a "new door" from a junkyard?
Hooked Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I had the same problem with mine. All I had to do is lube the cable that runs the window up and down. Take your time and don't strip the gears. I used a good grade of spray grease. Don't forget to spray silicone into the felt window track, that will help clean out the grit it collects. good luck
Pete M Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 sometimes it's too far gone for that. but it's a fairly simple task to replace the mechanism.
Rustybucket Posted September 16, 2010 Author Posted September 16, 2010 how can i lube the cable the moves the window?
