dasbulliwagen
^^^^^^ But seriously, I have little to no off road experience. The most off road Ive done is when I took my Grand Wagoneer into a 2 track trail on this property that was owned by the college I was working at, and when I came back out found the gate had been closed and locked. I put the Waggy in 4 low and noticed a less used exit where a fence was fallen over, only to go right through a ditch along the edge of the dirt road. A few frame bumps later and I was out. Did the same thing over a huge curb with the Waggy to get primo parking spot at a concert as I drove over the grass and huge curb right into the spot! Unglar
If your going down a jeep trail and there is a large water bar in front of you, don't assume there is road on the other side of it.....
mvusse
No matter how good the welds look, do not hook a strap to a bumper that is not BOLTED to the frame. Last trip out I pulled a bumper off a Comanche just getting the strap tight, was not welded very well. A few hours later with a doubled up strap and a 10 foot run I pull the bumper off a full size Bronco. That one was welded professionally.
SW86
never wheel alone. but i think thats a general rule of thumb. if you do make sure to have a cb or cell phone that actually gets good signal. gps wouldnt hurt either. ive been stuck in the mud in the middle of no where had to walk until i got one f**kin bar on my phone and thankfully it held long enough for me to place that call. if not i would of walked allllllll night. not to mention having to leave my truck out in the elements for hours. a winch would of been great in that situation but sometimes theres not always something to hook to too. thats where a pull-pal comes in

kastein
If you get stuck because you have tires spinning, and don't have a locker, ride the brakes a little... may blow up your pinion and side gears if you get too friendly with the go pedal, or have a d35, but can save your butt.
