Northup
Hey guys just a few questions. MY fuel rail is all rusted up and full of holes. I cleaned out the injectors and rail, and the rail is leaking out of a bunch of pin holes. Does a Cherokee fuel rail swap in? And why can't I find anywhere selling a fuel rail? XJ or MJ. Am I going to have to get a junkyard rail? Yards around here close at 5 and I work till 7. Don't want to have to take time of work just to go pull one if I could find a new one. its a 1991 MJ 4.0l 5spd 4x4
Geonovast
When it comes to that stuff, yeah, XJ parts are identical. (I believe) there are no difference in the rails 91-96.
Northup
Thanks Geono, I figured it was, as they look identical. Still searching for somewhere to find a replacement
HOrnbrod
Call your dealer and ask for part number 53030435, fuel rail for any 91-95 4.0L Jeep engine. If they can find one, expect to pay $400+. Suggest pulling one at the yard...................
Geonovast
Prices that high for such a relatively simple part should be illegal. Now, if it came with brand new injectors, regulator, lines and pump...
HOrnbrod
:agree: I'd never do it. I'm sure someone has a good used one laying around for less than $300.
jimoshel
$299.95, plus .05c for shipping and handling.
HOrnbrod
Including injectors? :D
jimoshel
Serious. Sat morn I'm picking up a couple scrap 4's. If they're rebuildable I'm keeping them. If one, or both is scrap and the fuel rail is good you can have it for shipping costs.
Northup
Thanks for the help and offers. I went and pulled on today out of a 93 Cherokee for 15$. Bolted right up only difference is the pressure release valve is farther forward then the mj one, but made no difference. Mine rotted out right around the fuel pressure regulator.
