88SporTruck Posted August 5, 2010 Share Posted August 5, 2010 I'm sure some of the needed interior pieces like the center console and possibly the tcase shift linkage will be different. It would be much easier to buy a dirt cheap Cherokee to use for the swap. You can find them pretty often for a few hundred bucks for one with accident damage or severe rust. mnkyboy Posted August 6, 2010 Share Posted August 6, 2010 I wouldnt use the drivetrain other then engine and maybe trans. the 249 t-case is junk but you should be able to adapt a 242. the front axle is a low pinion dana 30 that uses CVs making it weaker then an XJ dana 30 and the rear is a 44A which has an aluminum diff housing and breaks easily its also coil sprung so it would take some work to get it under your MJ.
