FLMANCHE526
How Much to do a complete rebuild while also turning it into a stroker? I'm Buying a 89 2wd sb auto 4.0 and want to make it a fast street truck and want to keep a jeep engine in it. Any tips and pointers will be appreciated. Thanks
DJM/78
A stroker is a complete engine rebuild , done right anyway it will cost a little more than just rebuilding with stock specs , larger injectors are not a must but if you intend to actually get any power out of it I would do that as well . I would also look for a high output motor to get the true benefit of all the 96+ plus upgrades like the 97+ intake and other little goodies that will push some pony's . IMHO , just swap a V8 in it and be done .

Blue XJ
I built my stroker about 4 years ago. I have just under $3,000 into it. About $1300 of that is the machine work that I had done. The only parts that I reused were the block, head, valve cover, oil pan and front cover. All the other components, including the valve train were replaced. cracker
$3000 is about right with good parts.
